Guo Fan
Guo Fan is an art installation combined with art jewelry, based on the culture of overseas Chinese remittance. The work studies the history of Chaozhou people who traveled to Southeast Asia to make a living. A two-way linked spindle structure turns continuously, so the historical scenes overlap without end. The jewelry pieces follow the idea of slices of history, and each piece gives the wearer a different role within the same story. Brass, stainless steel, aluminium, resin and acrylic are used, shaped by laser cutting and 3D printing.
Guo Fan Art Installation and Jewelry by Yang Mai has been recognized as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Awards.
