A Dream
The designer considers a dream is weightless and transparent. It can hardly be caught, and yet it is so realistic. He designs this installation as a way to visualize the metaphor of the surrealistic nature in a dream. Each curved member contributes to a part of a propagating dream. He places entire design setting on a transparent base with a light source projects upward to make it feel weightless like floating in the air.
A Dream tabletop lighting installation by Naai-Jung Shih was recognized as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. A Dream tabletop lighting installation earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2017. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that rewards superior design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
